Gavin and his girlfriend, Skye
My grandson, Gavin, graduated from high school this
past Saturday.
Gavin and his older
sister Annika were home schooled through a Home School Co-op.
During Gavin’s final two years of high school
he also attended a Technical Career School majoring in automotive collision work.
He loves to work with his hands and also loves
working with cars.
Gavin graduated with
honors, is a member of the National Honor Society and is an Eagle Scout.
Due to his achievements at the Technical
School he obtained a full-time job as soon as he finished all of his classes.
We are very proud of him and were so happy to
be able to see him graduate!
My son Chris, daughter-in-law Kristi, grandson Gavin and granddaughter Annika.
Congrats to your grandson! It sounds like he's got a really good head on his shoulders.
ReplyDeleteThank you, he is a very wise and kind young man.
DeleteGood for Gavin. I especially like his blue vest.
ReplyDeleteI almost cried when I saw him in his cap and gown. They sure do grow up over night!
DeleteYou can be very proud of your grandson. I wish him much success.
ReplyDeleteThank you Red, I am proud of him. I think he will do well in life.
DeleteCongrats to Gavin. I am so happy for him. Thanks for sharing these delightful photos. A real milestone for this hard-working young man.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They sure do grow up quickly, don't they? He is a hard working young man with a very kind heart.
DeleteWow. Way to go, Gavin. Congrats on all of the hard work and getting a great job right after high school graduation. I can see why you are so proud of him.
ReplyDeleteHe knew just what he wanted and he planned out how to get there. He is a special young man and we do love him! Just you wait, your kids will be graduating before you know it!
DeleteCongrats! There is one young man who deserves our respect and admiration, and the job he got as soon as he finished his classes! I hope he managed to squeeze in a few days of rest between exams, graduation and starting to work.
ReplyDeleteHe was working part time for that same company during his final semester and went full time when done with school so not much of a break for him yet. Gavin is a hard worker and we are proud of him!
DeleteCongratulations, Gavin. A terrific achievement. Best of luck with your future endeavors. Your Grandmother is very (justifiably) proud.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary! Yes, I am very proud of him!
DeleteThis is a lovely story Bonnie. His story reminds me so much of my nephew. Very similar. I am so pleased for him and his family.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachel. We are happy for him. He is currently working on farm and road machinery so is getting a wide range of experience. I would love to hear about your nephew sometime.
DeleteCongrats to Gavin!! What an accomplished young man! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rita! We are proud of him but it is also hard to see our youngest grandchild graduate. I can't imagine even our grandchildren are grown now!
DeleteCongratulations to your grandson...and so glad you got to see him graduate. It is a wonderful accomplishment that he could get the technical.training of something he loves to do. There is something to be said for working with your hands.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rose! His graduation ceremony was much later than normal due to Covid but I am so happy they were able to have it and we were able to go.
DeleteGavin is a cutie, isn't he. Has a pretty girlfriend too. Oh, you must be so proud of him. Where do the years go? I was looking back at your posts, and read your prayer, it's beautiful. I have to pray for help every day. TV and the news, the programs, all of it makes me angry...I don't want to be a bitter old woman.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit I am a bit partial to him! Just yesterday he was a toddler and now graduating. He's our youngest and the last to graduate. You are right Henny, this is a difficult time for us all with Covid and the world as it is these days. We are thankful he was able to have a graduation with everything going on now.
DeleteHow wonderful, Bonnie! I'm glad you were able to attend his graduation - and that his graduation could be held at all. It's been a time of such uncertainty. Grad ceremonies are quite emotional for parents and grandparents, aren't they? I think much more so than for the grads themselves. We have a different perspective as we get older. Ah, the passage of time.
ReplyDeleteWell done to Gavin; he sounds like he is a preparer and a striver - two very good things in life. Add that to the kindness you mention, and no wonder you are so proud of him. Congratulations!
Thank you! I know I am partial but he is a special person. He has a very quiet and calm way about things and is a kind and good person. You are right, the graduation was much more emotional for us and his parents but it was also a time for him to be reminded of how much he is cared for by his family!
DeleteMany congratulations and a few huzzahs thrown in for Gavin. I am impressed that (a) he knows what he wants to do at this young age and (b) that he chose a trade instead of a profession. I believe his success in the future is assured.
ReplyDeleteThank you RWP! Almost all of the other family members have had professions and his Dad is a computer Engineer and Programmer with the DOD. He's watched family members and decided early he did not want to work at a desk or a computer. I'm just glad he is happy with this and actually can make a very good income with it too. They say not enough young people are choosing trades these days and there is a very high need for people in such jobs.
DeleteCongratulations Gavin! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Simone!
DeleteGo Gavin and BIG congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy! He's a special guy!
DeleteCongratulations to Gavin. You are rightly proud of the fine young man. I wish him all the best in his future :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Lee. I've been bad about getting around to many blogs but it is always good to hear from you! Have a wonderful weekend!
